The area over the metacarpal callous is a bit dark but I couldn't feel a scab specifically. Feathers are pretty trashed, did a feather check. Will need imping of R wing, and will add checking the tail for regrowth radiographically next week as well. Although everything feels solid I recommend leaving bandaged until radiographs next week, as metacarpal fractures often have delayed healing. Continue PT as before. Dr Gardner

Scabs along ventral/leading edge of R wrist; large, hard swelling on metacarpal just after wrist. Suspect calloused fx, no crepitation felt, full extension. Not sure what's going on yet. Tail is near completely missing, a few feathers IB, one pinched off at base and very unhealthy - pulled, unhealthy portion came off easily but can see pinched bit within follicle? No other findings on body and no signs of head trauma despite the dramatic window entrance. Set up in R36 - flew perch to perch. Suspect wrist injury happened at same time as tail, predator attack? Dmg to/lack of tail feathers may have skewed his flight steering. Treatment --------- 0.11 Meloxi IM Plan --------- Radiograph in the coming days, evaluate wrist.
